Ìgbádùn Weekly · ChopLife Studios

Effective Date: September 2026

Summary for Event Organisers

  • Zero tolerance for fraud: Fictitious, deceptive, or phantom events are strictly prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement authorities (EFCC / NPF).
  • Manual review: Paid events from new/unverified organisers undergo administrative review before ticket sales open.
  • Rolling automated settlement (T+1): Ticket earnings are settled directly to your connected Nigerian bank account on a rolling next-business-day schedule via Paystack, providing advance cash flow to fund your event.
  • 100% refund responsibility: If your event is cancelled or fails to take place as advertised, you are solely responsible for refunding attendees.
  • Chargeback indemnity: Organisers fully indemnify Ìgbádùn against bank chargebacks, dispute processing fees, and penalties.

1. Acceptance of Agreement

This Organiser Agreement ("Agreement") constitutes a legally binding contract between you ("Organiser", "Merchant", "you") and ChopLife Studios, trading as Ìgbádùn Weekly ("Ìgbádùn", "we", "us", "our"), registered and operating in Osun State, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

By registering an organiser account, publishing an event, listing paid ticket tiers, or connecting a payout bank account, you expressly represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement, that you are at least 18 years of age, and that you agree to be bound by all terms set forth herein.

2. Event Authenticity & Anti-Fraud Standards

Ìgbádùn was founded to promote vibrant, genuine lifestyle and cultural gatherings across Osogbo, Ile-Ife, Ilesa, Ede, and Osun State. We maintain strict anti-fraud safeguards to protect attendees and our community:

Warranties of Event Legitimacy

You warrant that all event details (date, venue, advertised artistes/speakers, ticket inclusions) are true, accurate, and confirmed. You warrant that you have obtained all necessary venue reservations, municipal clearances, and permissions required by Osun State authorities.

Prohibited Events

You may not list phantom events, deceptive ticket lotteries, events promoting illegal activity, unauthorized commercial promotions, or events you do not have direct authority to host.

Criminal Referral

Any attempt to list fraudulent events, collect unauthorized ticket funds, or impersonate third-party venues or artistes will result in immediate termination, permanent blacklist, and direct referral of your identity, NUBAN, phone number, and IP records to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

3. Manual Review & Organiser Verification

To prevent fraud and maintain the highest safety standard for event attendees:

  • First-Time & Paid Event Review: Paid events submitted by unverified organisers are automatically held in Draft / Under Review status. Our moderation team reviews the event details before ticket sales are activated.
  • Proof of Booking: For ticketed concerts, major festivals, or high-capacity events, Ìgbádùn reserves the right to request proof of venue payment, contracts with headline talent, or valid government identification (NIN/BVN or CAC registration) prior to publishing.
  • Verified Organiser Badge: Organisers with a demonstrated history of successful, dispute-free events in Osun State may be granted Verified Status, allowing future events to publish immediately.

4. Ticketing, Platform Fees & Fee Bearer Options

Ìgbádùn operates an automated split-payment ticketing model powered by licensed payment gateway partner Paystack. When creating an event, the Organiser selects how the 5% platform service fee is allocated:

  • Organiser Absorbs Fee: The 5% fee is deducted from your ticket payout. Attendees pay the exact face-value price (e.g., ticket is ₦5,000, attendee pays ₦5,000, and the Organiser receives ₦4,750 net).
  • Pass Fee to Attendee: The 5% fee is added at checkout. The attendee pays the ticket face value plus the platform fee (e.g., ticket is ₦5,000, attendee pays ₦5,250, and the Organiser receives ₦5,000 in full into their connected bank account).
  • Non-Refundable Processing Fees: Under our Attendee & Ticketing Policy, the 5% platform convenience fee is non-refundable once payment processing is completed.
  • Free Events: Free admission passes and community gatherings incur zero platform fees.

5. Automated Bank Settlements (Rolling T+1) & Cash Flow

Automated Rolling Next-Day Settlements via Paystack (T+1)

Unlike legacy ticketing systems that lock all proceeds until after an event ends, Ìgbádùn routes ticket revenue directly to your verified Nigerian commercial bank account on a rolling next-business-day schedule (T+1) via Paystack Split Payments.

This automated settlement model provides you with immediate working capital to secure event venues, confirm audio-visual equipment, and pay artiste/talent deposits well before event day.

Strict Organiser Refund Reciprocal Liability: Because Ìgbádùn provides advance rolling payouts to empower your event production, you contractually acknowledge that you remain 100% strictly liable for issuing refunds to ticket holders in the event that your event is cancelled, postponed indefinitely, abandoned, or misrepresented.

6. Cancellations, Postponements & Refunds

The Organiser bears sole and absolute responsibility for managing event alterations, cancellations, and attendee refunds:

1. Mandatory 100% Refund: If an event is cancelled, postponed without an agreed rescheduled date within 30 days, moved to an unreasonable distance, or fails to take place, the Organiser must refund 100% of the ticket face value to all ticket holders.

2. Automated Platform Refunds: If an event is cancelled prior to payout settlement, Ìgbádùn reserves the right to issue refunds directly to attendees from the held ticket funds.

3. Post-Payout Cancellation Liability: If an event is cancelled or disputed after funds have been disbursed to the Organiser's bank account, the Organiser remains strictly liable to repay Ìgbádùn and the affected attendees within forty-eight (48) hours of notification.

7. Chargebacks, Bank Disputes & Negative Balance Clawback

A chargeback occurs when an attendee disputes a transaction through their issuing bank (e.g., alleging non-delivery of service, fraud, or unfulfilled event promises).

Full Organiser Liability: The Organiser is 100% financially responsible for all chargebacks, reversals, and bank dispute assessment fees (including Paystack's dispute processing surcharges) arising from their events.

Right of Offset & Debit: If any chargeback results in a negative balance or loss to Ìgbádùn, you authorize Ìgbádùn to:

  • Debit or reverse funds from your connected Paystack subaccount;
  • Deduct the debt from future ticket sales across any of your current or subsequent events;
  • Issue an invoice for immediate reimbursement payable within 3 business days; and/or
  • Pursue recovery through lawful collection agencies, legal proceedings, and financial blacklists.

8. Attendee Data Privacy & NDPA Compliance

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), Ìgbádùn and Event Organisers act as joint data controllers regarding ticket registration records:

  • You may only use attendee names, phone numbers, and email addresses for admission control, door check-in, and essential logistical updates related directly to the specific event booked.
  • You may not sell, rent, disclose, or transfer attendee contact records to third-party advertisers or spammers.
  • You agree to protect exported attendee guestlists against unauthorized data leaks or loss.

9. Indemnification & Limitation of Liability

Indemnification Clause

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ChopLife Studios, Ìgbádùn Weekly, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable legal fees and bank penalties) arising out of or related to:

  1. Your breach of this Agreement or false representation of an event;
  2. Any cancellation, abandonment, postponement, or safety incident occurring at your event venue;
  3. Any intellectual property or copyright infringement regarding your event flyers, promotional assets, or branding;
  4. Any tax obligations or government levies arising from your ticket revenues; and
  5. Any chargeback, refund demand, or consumer protection claim filed by your ticket buyers.

To the maximum extent permitted under applicable Nigerian law, Ìgbádùn's total liability arising out of this platform or service shall in no event exceed the total platform fees actually retained by Ìgbádùn for the specific event in dispute.

10. Governing Law & Contact

This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Osun State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall first be submitted to good-faith mediation in Osogbo, Osun State, prior to resorting to the High Court of Osun State.
